jasonandrewI worked on outlining for Sympathetic Magic. It did not go well. I think maybe that idea isn't ready. I have the brief idea, it feels too much like the old school forumla. I'm going to be brainstorming for a few days. I think this idea works the best, but I might have to let it gestate for a while.
I did end up coming up with more ideas for New Gods of the Lost Children and for a Jacob Heller mystery. On one hand, I think I came up with a way to do New Gods with only one main POV character. If I go this route, this novel suddenly becomes a lot more saleable and less confusing. I think it loses a bit of the terror this way, but I think the idea is solid enough that it could work.
On the other hand, I may have come up with a solid occult mystery that I enjoyed. I've never written a mystery before. That has appeal and is also a little bit scary.
The best part about the outlining stage is that I can jump from project to project at whim until I settle and start writing.
