I have finished editing "The Deadman’s Hand." It has topped out at 4400 words. It isn't due until next week so I am going to sit on it a couple of days and take one final look at it. This is for the same editor that published me in Arkham Tales and was a private invitation to the anthology so I really want to impress him. The ending is pretty good, but I think I can add in some more details. If I can polish five paragraphs, I think I can make this story kick ass.

I'm trying to figure out if I want to rename one of the characters. If anyone has a neat idea for a jewish alchemist, drop me a line. I've been reading about jewish mysticism, and it is fairly keen.

Is it set in modern times? Or is it a period piece? I have a book on international names, The Writer's Digest Character Naming sourcebook that has several pages of Jewish/Hebrew names in it.
