First round of reading the slush pile

jasonandrewI had 8 entries in the first twenty four hours for http://www.simianpublishing.com/Guidelines.html
Of the 8 entries, 7 of them fit the guidelines. The 8th was interesting, but was way too under our word requirements.
I put four of the remaining stories in the possible box awaiting by co-editors to check them out. 2 of them are stories I really love and can't wait to share with people. I can see why some editors get behind though. It's crazy.
None of them was horrible, which was my fear in doing this. It's difficult picking stories for a certain theme or feeling you have in your head.
