Sunday was another round of the Seattle Short Story writing group. It was a lot of fun, but I felt like I was talking too much about myself. However, the others seemed to find it useful.
We set up a challenge to write a story and submit it to the Fem-Fangs Anthology. I came up with an unusual vampire story that might just fit.
I worked a bit on a requested rewrite for another anthology. I wrote this story years ago and so this might require an over-haul. I've been thinking on it.
I think I might walk around Pioneer Square a bit to get the vibe right. All in all, it was a good night.

Date: 2010-08-03 04:44 am (UTC)I like the idea of using a submission as a writing exercise, particularly one like Fem Fangs that has a deadline in only 2 weeks.
One writing group near me has a different member each week pick the writing exercise. The only caveat is that it can't be from the same genre as the previous exercise. The writers have (from what I've been able to tell) been pretty stretched by this. I'll give them your idea about submitting to anthologies too. I think they will like that.
