Spoilers....words, words, words.....
I am currently working on Chapter Ten: Ouroboros and Chapter Eleven: Requiem in the House of Logos. This is really a two part story split in two.
Chapter Ten: Ouroboros involves dealing with the aftermath of the Tower of Bone and Dylan actually flexing his muscles as the leader of a community.
Chapter Eleven: Requiem in the House of Logos revolves around Dylan finally winning Pan's Treasure. However, it wouldn't be a worthy quest if the hero didn't have to face something difficult. This challenge involves realizing that your parents aren't perfect or gods. It is the first and final step in growing up.
I think chapter 10 is almost ready, but I need to polish the fight with the monster at the end of the chapter. I think that the fight is a little rough stuff. I want it to pop with terror. Man, reading through this, I'm mean to these characters.
Chapter 11 needs some love. I think the metaphor for the House of Logos needs a bit of a polish. I love the reveal at the end.
My favorite part of a Bond movie was always the reveal by the villain. Chapter Twelve: Tall Sails, Taller Tales does that in style. Except I followed all of the Evil Overlord's Handbook Guidelines. There is a reason the villain can't kill Dylan. This isn't a situation where there are sharks and lasers, but instead the villain Cenotaph can't kill Dylan and achieve his goals.
I can see the end of this project in sight and I am glad.
