Looking for a word

There is a word to describe a city or a village built onto the side of a cliff or mountain and I can't remember it.

It might drive me insane.

Anyone know what I am talking about?

According to Wikipedia, cliffside cave dwellings in France and/or Tunisia are sometimes called "Troglodytes"

The problem with troglodytes is that it has another far more common meaning.
