A Good Day
Apr. 30th, 2011 05:34 pmToday has been a good day. When I awoke, I was a little sad that I was not at the Yummy Gras Party. I've missed two fun things two weeks in a row, but it was for the good of my health.
My face is healing quickly. I no longer look like Two-Face and I can talk fairly normally. People can still tell that something happened to make me talk a little weird, but nothing too bad.
I slept a very solid sleep until about 11 in the morning. I rarely sleep so long as a single time. It felt like heaven.
I added about 500 words or so on a Heller Mystery story titled "A Simple Job" and then I decided to play for a bit. Writers need to play with words.
I started a personal essay titled "Midnight in the Heart of New Orleans Near the Statue of Ignatius" about my own personal visit to NOLA last year.
And then, I had an idea burst into my little brain about Doctor Who. As many of you know the fine actress Elisabeth Sladen that played Sarah Jane Smith died recently. I had an idea burning inside of my eyeballs wanting to get out and so I played for a couple of hours and I wrote a story involving the Eleventh Doctor saying goodbye to Sarah Jane.
A lot of writers harsh on fanfiction, but I think it can awesome and I would die of sheer delight if someday people are loving my stories so much that they write fanfiction.
I am off to dinner with an old friend and then I will settle into watching the next Doctor Who. I am trying to be spoiler free and it is very difficult.
