Listening to the Rain
May. 29th, 2010 03:51 pmAll hail to the three day weekend.
I finished the draft of "Daughter of the Sky God" this afternoon. I really like the story. I am going to let it sit this weekend and then edit it next week.
I've been concentrating on short stories a great deal in the past months. However, I outlined a way to divide up the story for Mystical Rome into three parts for a single novel. However, I really seem to be growing with each short story. I'm really regrowing my love for words. I'm OK on holding it off for a little while. The Mystical Rome story is eventually going to be a real door stopper and honestly I'm having a lot of fun with short fiction.
I will restart my novel in August. That is when the anthology market always dries up and I will have more time to devote to it.
I made a little bit of progress on "Wooden Swords Made From Busted Grape Crates." I suspect writing this story will be a slow boil and I am OK with that.
I started "The Horses'Thunder Down in the Valley Below" for a magical southern anthology. This is the first of my new revamped Highway West series. I am liking this concept.
I've spent some time researching old vans from the 70s. There is a style I am thinking of that I can't quite identify. Edit: I found it. The 1977 Dodge Tradesman!!!!
I am also revamping a plot I had thought of for a Doctor Who anthology. I think the plot is too fun to wait until there is a new Doctor Who anthology coming out.
