The deed is done.

I just completed the last words on Dylan and the Dream Pirates.

The final word count is 81,000 words.

Tomorrow I will edit and review the last two chapters so there might be a slight change in the word count as I tighten up the pages.

I am very tired, and very happy.

Last night, I finished the first draft of my fourth novel.

The first novel was titled War of the Provinces. I wrote it in high school and was simply horrible. I was very much a D&D fanatic at the time and it showed.

The second novel was titled the The Highway West. It was worlds better with a number of new ideas. I've used these ideas in other stories and build a solid universe around it. I left this book because in the end it was an imitation.

I had several failures after that. I tried rebuilding the second novel in a couple of different ways, but I could never let it go. I became frustrated and quick writing for several years.

My third novel borrowed some elements from the the Highway West. It was named Abigail's Dragon or Dreams in the Dragon's House. I took the big elements of the universe and turned it around and wrote a smaller story. I wrote about a girl named Abigail. I learned a lot by writing this novel, but in the end, I think that my plotting abilities and my writing skills were not yet up to the challenge.

And then I started Dylan and the Dream Pirates. It is set in the same universe as Dreams in the Dragon's House.

Will this be the one?

I have a good feeling, but you always have a good feeling about your children when they are babies.
