I am glad I was given a couple extra days for "Unto the Breach."

I really like the opening. I've never been in the military, but I tried to really capture the moment of living in those trenches during World War II.

"Unto the Breach" has been completed and revised. The next step is for the lovely and dead-sexy [livejournal.com profile] insatia to review and edit it.

This was the first story I wrote after I put up the universe wiki and it did indeed make things much easier. I was able to reference things properly.

I have started working on my next essay Tales of the Miscreant Monkey Crew: Rat City Rollergirl Championship 2009.

I must have been watching a lot of the history channel.

My next assigned story is also a strange war story titled “Recovery” that involves the Pamir Mountains. This mountain range is known to have one of the most complex series of natural deep caves known. There’s plenty of initial details here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pamir_Mountains

The theme of the anthology is the end of the world in 2012 AD. I think I have a fun way to do it. Here is a hint: it was inspired by the famous Tree Bark Man.

I’ve had this story in my seed folder for two years or more.
