Nov. 19th, 2008 12:31 pmMy department was informed today that we're being laid-off. Friday is my last day. I'm am sad because I think this has been my favorite job and not because they paid so well.
Oddly, two weeks ago they were talking about full-time for me and adding two others. I should have realized when a lot of the big projects were pushed back for three months that they wouldn't need a technical writer for a couple of months.
Unemployment should be pretty awesome since they go off of what you have been paid last.
My darling wife
insatia had stepped up and promised to help me shoulder the bills. It is times like these that remind me how much I love her.
Odds are I won't get a job until the new year so that gives me a month and a half to finish out a bunch of old writing projects.
I also have NDA freelance job that is going to take up a lot of time in the next three weeks. So much that I didn't think I would have time to do a couple other offers and I turned them down.
