A Strange Few Weeks
Nov. 9th, 2008 11:19 amI haven't updated in the last few weeks.
Life has been very crazy.
My work has been going exceptionally well. I'd be happy to have a job pretty much anywhere in this economy. I have a nice office. I can listen to music while I work. The workspace is laid back. It pays better than any of my previous jobs. And it looks like they want to hire me full-time, so I won't be worried about being a contractor or not having health insurance.
The downside is that the last two weeks have beem crazy busy, but I should finish that up this next week.
On the weekends,
insatia and I have had our bodies kidnapped by twenty year olds and suddenly been forced to drive to Portland or whereever for nights of parties and gaming. It has been fun.
I think I'm happy with the layout of Twilight Temptations. I'm going to look at it again tomorrow and hope that the ISBN mess is handled. And then, I can jump to the next Simian Publishing Project. This year has been a slow time for Simian Publishing as my personal life kind of took over, but I am determined to make this company continue.
On the writing front, I've also had good news.
There was a project that I thought I had been dropped from contacting me and asking about my edits. I was surprised, but I worked on that yesterday. I'm going to work on it against this afternoon and give it to
insatia.
I was also invited to a couple of NDA projects.
This helped boost my ego a bit. I think I have been suffering from that old enemy of writers...depression.
I have a test reader running through Dreams in the Dragon's House. It sounds like she is taking it pretty seriously and making lots of comments. It occured to me yesterday how I could change the struture of the beginning to make it easier to jump into. But that would be a serious project. I've heard of writers wasting years on a book that would never be published. I certainly dont want to do that.
