Weekend Roundup

Friday was insatia's surprise party. Despite a wedding and various trips also scheduled at the same time, I managed to get a good mix of new and old friends for her. Anna and Seth were easy to arrange, but I even managed to find Luke. It was a big pain to organize everyone's schedules, but Clay and Debbie helped out so much.

Saturday, we most slept in. We've been getting up at 6 AM every day and it has been wearing on us. Saturday night, I went to the Dark Reign game and it was very fun.

Today, we were lazy and watched a couple of movies. Silk is an awesome Japanse ghost movie. I highly recommend it.

The Fountain was pretty, but kind of just plain. There wasn't a story there. Not a good one.

I also managed to actually add to my word count for Dylan and the Dream Pirates

Gotta disagree with you about the Fountain not having a story. It does have one but not the one that's advertised and only at the end when he puts a pine cone on his wife's grave do you realize that it's a fantasy about trying to cheat death and ultimately coming to terms with death and not just your death but the deaths of your loved ones which is a harder pill to swallow.

That's not a story though. Its just a theme.

A story is about what happens to a character. We didn't see how the main character had any sort of change. Things just sort of happened. Pretty things, but that's just it.
