I am tired. I was up til late last night at the Halloween Party. It was awesome.

I figured out how to merge Chapter One and Two of Abigail's Dragon. I think it will resolve 90% of the feedback of needing to be faster. I might do that later.

I'm just not feedling Dylan and the Dreamlands. I think I am going to set it aside and pick it back up.

I need to do something more adult. I am looking through stories and my notes for idea.

I need to figure out what I am going to do.

I wouldn't rewrite one that you have written repeatedly before. I think that is just bashing your head against a wall. Start something new. Go for something different than you normally do. Maybe something in space that doesn't have any supernatural overtones. Or a fictionalization of something inspired from your time at college or since. Think of which section of Borders your books would normally be shelved in and intentionally go for a different one.

Nanowrimo is as much an exercise as it is a tool to get a book written. I think breaking out of your normal mold would be good for you. It will help you grow as a writer.

I'm looking for an idea that I am in love with and not a YA novel. I'm going to do a series of pitches tonight and tomorrow and see which one I like the best.

I do definitely plan to finish Dylan and the Dreamlands, but I need to something else before I tackle another YA novel.

And as for genre, I have to stick with what I love. I have to write the kind of stories that I love. :)

I might do a horror novel.
