"Asenath" was the little short story that took forever. I just submitted it to Cthulhurotica under the wire.

It is a retelling of "The Thing on the Doorstep" from the point of view if Asenath. I mixed the mythology of the dreamland cycles and the Mythos with a strong female character. The facts of the story work with the unreliable narrator from "The Thing on the Doorstep" and uses an awesomely horrible story from the bible.

Here is the opening:

“Asenath”

by Jason Andrew

The stars shimmered brightly on the night of my conception. Father planned the wedding for almost two years. He waited until the star that the ancient astronomers of the Saracenic Caliphate named Ibn al Jauzah to align with the cyclical passing of Peltier’s comet. The name Ephraim Waite held a great deal of respect from the residents of Innsmouth in those days. The Esoteric Order of Dagon sacrificed three witless souls from Arkham to the Deep Ones for the proper blessings of the evening’s festivities. This was not a night for propriety, but for blood and flesh and revelry.

There was an anthology I saw just a week ago about letters / emails during the time of the zombie uprising.

Can anyone point it out to me?
