Writing About Current Oil Tragedy

I had a horrible dream last night about the Louisiana Oil Spill. I had been thinking about how the whole thing seems like a Lovecraftian Nightmare as I went to sleep.
The story burned in my head.
It feels a bit weird writing this story, but I think it works. I think it works when fiction relates to current events.
