I'm taking a break from the endless technical writing and copyediting.

I feel like I did a proper fun marathon of writing this weekend. More or less, I kept writing in bursts of 30 minutes and skipped subjects when I got tired.

I suspect no one else cares, but I wanted to list a proper score. it will take me weeks to finish all of these.

"The Sky God's Daughter" is being edited by my first reader.

"Spirits Are Ruthless with the Paths They Choose" should be ready for my first reader tomorrow.

I am going to start editing "The Fisherman's Wife" tonight.

Stories in progress:

"The Horses' Thunder Down in the Valley Below" has 1,200 words so far and I am enjoying the ride.

"Recovery" has 500 words. This is my mythos story about the US war in Afghanistan, fungi, and Yog-Sothoth

"The Problem We All Live With" has reached 1,000 words. This is my first Marshal Pozagai story.

"Six Minutes" reached 750 words. This is a boxing match for Styles from the crew of the Phoenix.

"Funeral of a Viking King" reached 800 words. This is a story based on the writer Ahmad ibn Fadlan and his experience witnessing a viking funeral. I read the account and it is chilling.

"Murder on the Feng Shui Express" ballooned to 1,200 words. This is a Jonathan Heller and a dragon story.

"The Three Gates" has 1,000 words or so. This is a Mystical Rome story.

"Moffat Bound" has about 200 words and is a romantic BDSM retelling of the old nursery tale.

Stories in flux:

I am working on my superhero for the No More Heros story.

And then of course, my brain is locked trying to come up with a proper story for this mess. http://whatever.scalzi.com/2010/05/30/fanfic-contest/
