Short Story Roundup

I have forced myself to get on track with my writing duties and beat down the lazy lizard part of my brain that just wants to be lazy.

My Freelance Project Draft #1 is complete. I am going to review it tomorrow. I felt very intimated by this story. I am under NDA, but I will say I get to use one of my all time favorite media characters EVER.

I completed my revisions for "Unto the Breach" for the Dragon's Lure anthology. This story is my little love letter to a favorite author, war movies, my grandfather, and dragons. Note: It is also part of the Heller mystery series.

I have two Mystical Rome stories that I need to complete in the next two weeks. "Three Gates of Agony" tells the story of Valeria inspired by the she-devil Kathy Empson telling her daughter the true story of how she was conceived. I am trying to figure out a way to properly tell the story and pass the censors.

I was invited to a crime anthology. Wow! I’m going to finally get to write a Thanes story!!!

The rest of the week is devoted to speculation work.

I want to complete a Phoenix story for the Triangulation Anthology: Over the Rainbow. I love this universe. I want to write more in it.

I have another Heller mystery to complete titled “Moonlight in Scarlet” that I want to complete for the annual Sword and Sorceress anthology in April.
