Life update
Mar. 31st, 2009 01:10 pmGreetings.
It has been months since I’ve updated. I think being out of work and not getting unemployment for three months was a solid kick in the ego and mental health.
I had to let Simian Publishing go. It was a hard decision. It was right financially and time wise. I need to either be a writer or an editor. I can’t do both. I’ve picked my battle to fight.
I’m working at Amazon Web Services. It is nice. I’m caught up on bills at last.
Lisa and I are doing much better. We’re communicating better. I think this last couple of weeks has been among the best we’ve had in years.
Last night I started going through my writing files and figure out what I have. I lost my zip drive around two months ago and lost some progress on writing and I think I just needed a bit of a break. I’m going to pick up another zip drive this afternoon and get back to it. Thank god, I do excel spreadsheets.
I started world building on mythical Rome and doing a bit of writing on different projects. I kind of want to try a mystery. There are a couple more media-tie in possibilities that I want to try.
Lisa and I returned to the Camarilla last summer. The club in many way improved their processes and rules. I was mostly impressed, except that they gave out way too much XP. My character started off with something like 453 XP. Crazy. There is a soft reset in June so that will be fun. It has been a blast seeing so many friends after my break. And nice to have social rules again. Rob has been teasing me with the awesome of Troupe games, but it is hard to do both.
And I sad to say that Andy Hallet died tonight. He played Lorne from Angel. And seemed like an awesome guy
