Deadlines: The Piling
Jun. 12th, 2008 04:19 pmI managed to add 500 words or so to Dylan and the Dream Pirates.
I spent some time editing for Simian Publishing projects this morning.
Suddenly, I also have other deadlines.
Short story for Sekret Project #1 was accepted. I have to wait until they announce it. This is making me dance.
Short story for Sekret Project #2 was accepted, but they want more details and revision. I'm pretty happy since it is basically me adding a whole subsection to a universe. It’s work for hire, but I still love it. I wish I could tell this story, but I can't because of NDA. When it comes out, I will tell this story. Oh yes.
A short story for another long awaited anthology clued me in that I had indeed been accepted. This has me dancing in the cubes.
Of course, I also had a ding. A flash story I wrote two years ago was bumped from an upcoming anthology. It sounds like they had to drop some of the stories to make it marketable. However, they are also going to be using paid fanfiction as part of the marketing campaign. I was invited to do a bit of revision to the story to meet the new guidelines. The word paid makes this move classy in my book. None of the dropped writers lose any money. Thankfully, the deadline is a bit off so I’ll be able to tackle other issues first.
