jasonandrew: (inconceivable)
This week was a good week.

I spent a lot of time on my contract position. I look forward to getting paid.

I managed to add to my word count for Dylan and the Dream Pirates and I have continued editing for my Simian Publishing work.

I've managed to create a good balance between writing/editing and play-time. If I complete enough writing/editing during the week, I can go and hit my LARPS every other week. On the alternative weeks, my lovely wife [livejournal.com profile] insatia and I try to do something fun together.

Here's my review of the LARPS:

DRC: This one has turned a corner toward the good. The STs are still making newbie mistakes, but I can see them making an effort, which is a solid win in my book. Besides, the mistakes being made are actual ones I did back in the day. I had fun, which is the most important aspect.

My character there is a gangrel named Jacob Heller. This is a remake of an old character, but with a better history. I’m enjoying the character and this is a much better fit.

Sadly, I didn’t get to make the character I am truly wanting to play. I’ve always had a desire to play an assamite sorcerer. I’ve never played an assamite before. The sorcerers look awesome. Now, I’m not talking about an old school wizard type of character that needs other people to protect him physically. The book describes them mixing and matching styles. It just seems like it would be keen to play. Granted, they are way more restricted than tremere magically.

However, when I started this character, there were way too many assamites and a sorcerer. Maybe next time.

ESC: This is the ECC Werewolf game. Playing this game is like being in a time machine. It reminds of my wacky fun Olympia time. Sure, sometimes the game seems like a bad Family Guy episode with the randomness, but it is fun to play with Rob, Clay, and Kyle. My character is a Silverfang with a massive Quixote complex. Sadly, I have to often explain what that means. But, it is fun to teach the other RP newbies how to be truely dangerous. One of them set fire to a bully character's foot and it made me laugh.
