Weekly Update:
Feb. 13th, 2008 03:54 pmI didn't go into work today.
I just felt horrible, tired, and just all around exhausted.
I used my massive powers for evil to tie down
insatia to the bed and stay home with me. I woke up at noon. She woke up at 1 PM. I think we were both fighting something nasty and sleeping allowed us to defeat it. I’m going to have to hop to get everything ready for my end date.
insatia and I have become massive Doctor Who and Torchwood fans. We’ve watched all three seasons of Doctor Who and we’re completely caught up on Torchwood. I’ve assigned my netflix queue to send me old Doctor Who.
I’ve received two more form rejection letters. It might be time to revise the letter again.
Or it might be that the market isn’t looking for DREAMS IN A DRAGON’s House at the moment.
On the flip side, I think I’ve making excellent strides in attaining contract media tie-in work. Joining the IAMTW turned out to be the best thing in the world for me. I’ve made a ton of contacts and people have been mentoring me. I’ve had a couple of opportunities that I would have never had alone. I’ve been very impressed with the organization as a whole.
I’ve sent off my synopsis/page sample for Sekret Project #1.
I’m working on Sekret Project #2.
Some writers might turn up their nose at such work, but they often are the ones that work at McDonalds. And, I really live getting a chance to write for characters that I really love.
Now, I just need to figure out the best approach to get into the Big Finish Doctor Who anthologies and get in on that Doctor Who action. I have several ideas that dying to get out of my head.
I’ve love to try Star Trek eventually, but it looks as though the competition is insane and I’d have a better chance going to the lesser known franchises first.
Of course, my dream job would be to do a Veronica Mars novel.
