Writing About Current Oil Tragedy
"The Horses' Thunder Down in the Valley Below" is progressing nicely, but I stopped working on it this morning.
I had a horrible dream last night about the Louisiana Oil Spill. I had been thinking about how the whole thing seems like a Lovecraftian Nightmare as I went to sleep.
The story burned in my head.
It feels a bit weird writing this story, but I think it works. I think it works when fiction relates to current events.

Check the Book of Revelation for references to 1/3 of the sea being destroyed. Rev. 8:8-9
I'm sure other religions with doomsday scenarios have similar prophesies. I have long felt that if any of it were true that oil would be one of the chief culprits.
