Dylan and the Dream Pirates: Chapter Seven: The Worthy

The last two chapters edit/rewrite has gone very smoothly. One of the things that always bugs me about fantasy stories and the classic hero is that there is rarely much thought as to why the chosen was selected.

If this book was the Lord of the Rings, Chapter Five: The Secret of Grimalkin Fortunato would be a twisted version the council meeting in Rivendale to decide the fate of the one ring. All of the interested parties have their own agenda, but it takes someone on the outside, someone not used to living in stories to see the common threads and the lies. Being from the outside world, Dylan can see the situations better,

Chapter Six: Mutiny on the Tempest involves Dylan proving he is smart enough to be the Captain. He has to convince people to follow him. A real test of leadership.

Chapter Seven: The Worthy is about the price of leadership and doing what needs to be done. It is about sacrfice and it has the first death in the book.

Incredibad

I have had this song stuck in my head since Clay let me borrow it.

And worse, I keep getting to the part about the mermaid and hope I'm not singing it outloud.

I have always been big boned aka festively plump once I quit sports.

I got really heavy this last year. I decided I wanted to do some walking to avoid that pothole.

I think I've lost around 5 to 10 pounds. I don't have a scale, but I have a belt and I have to do down one. And when I went to try on my old work shirts, they fit.

I limited myself to one soda per day. I started eating less. And I walk.

And oddly, I started letting myself have an occasional sweet treat, which made me want soda less.

No magic solution.

I think it helped that I've developed a mad taste for Strawberry Lemonade.

I was curious if anyone local was interesting in doing a walking thing a couple nights a week.
