Writers on the Web

I came across this community.

http://community.livejournal.com/ae_stories/friends

Which lead me to examine this website http://www.talesofmu.com/

I am completely facinated by this.

This writer is working in serialized fiction much like Charles Dickens. Her fans are actively supporting her.

I think eventually this might be the way fiction is sent out into the world. You subscribe to the writers you want to read. You pay them directly.

I've heard a few other writers contemplating doing this, however they tend to be already established in the publishing world.

Lynn Flewelling was thinking about doing it with a series of short stories about her characters that people paid one or two dollars to read--while she was still producing novels for her publisher on the side.
