The Summer of Superhero Movies

This is the greatest summer ever for Superhero movies.

Iron Man was easily the best comic book hero movie.

The Incredible Hulk was awesome, but not as good as Iron Man.

I think that The Dark Knight will likely be awesome.

Right now my top superhero movies are:

1. Iron Man
2. Batman Begins
3. Spider-Man
4. Spider-Man 2
5. Superman II
6. The Incredible Hulk
7. Blade
8. X-men
8. X-men United
9. Ghost Rider


Note: I didn't include movies based on non super hero comic books. Some of my favorites include:

1. Stardust
2. V for Vendetta

There are some good ones there. I really liked Mystery Men, although I know I'm in the minority on it. Also Sky High would make my top 10 list.

I'm pretty happy with this years Superhero Movies. They have all been, at the very least, decent so far. I'm super excited for The Dark Knight.

I think it's just that comic book movies in general translate well to the screen (as opposed to videogame movies.) I'm uber excited about Hellboy, and 300 was pretty damn awesome!

Also next year's The Watchman actually looks really damn faithful to the comic.
