Writing Update

I haven’t been able to write or edit as much as I have wanted to in the last week.

Today marked the return to the business of writing.

Things I’ve accomplished this morning:

I did some editing for Twilight Temptations for Simian Publishing this morning. I’m very proud of this anthology.

Submitted Dreams in the Dragon’s House to an agent. This agent has a blog that I liked and I got a sense of how this agent operates. I think this is another example of how a blog can help your business image.

Started researching for Persephone's Child

Returned to writing Dylan and the Dream Pirates

heh! It seems like all of my ideas require some research.

I often have to do a tiny bit on weapons/cooking/lifestyle/medical technologies, however as I'm primarily writing in fantasy/fictional settings I have a lot of room to make stuff up as long as it rings true with the reader.

I recently brought a book on the history of weapons from 5000BC to now. It’s been VERY helpful. I also have a reverse dictionary I use all the time.

heh! Right now I'm writing about a child that discovers that the Lost Boys were real and that his father was one of them. And now the pirates have gotten out of control and are running wild over the Dreamlands. :)

So I'm allowed to mix some of the details around a bit.

But for Dreams in the Dragon's House, I had to research all sorts of crazy things.

Although, I did find a really funny story about dragons and the number of toes relating to a legend about a conflict between Japan and China.
