"Unto the Breach" has been completed and revised. The next step is for the lovely and dead-sexy [livejournal.com profile] insatia to review and edit it.

This was the first story I wrote after I put up the universe wiki and it did indeed make things much easier. I was able to reference things properly.

I have started working on my next essay Tales of the Miscreant Monkey Crew: Rat City Rollergirl Championship 2009.

I am glad I was given a couple extra days for "Unto the Breach."

I really like the opening. I've never been in the military, but I tried to really capture the moment of living in those trenches during World War II.

I am done with the draft of "Unto the Breach".

I think this one has a solid body on it and with a couple of days of tuning will kick much ass.

And now, I have another mission.

I was given a couple more days to finish "Unto the Breach".

I think the story will greatly benefit from another couple of days. I added in another thousand words. It was interesting adding in the present day element.

Work has progressed on "Unto the Breach" for my submission.

3200 / 7000 words. 46% done!

I figured out a good way to bookend the story.

And of course, this story almost demands two other stories be written to fill out the Heller timeline.

It is funny how the little details of research turn into plot points.

I started a new story called “Unto the Breach."

It involves trench warfare during WWI, an ancient fertility god known as Mercurius Moccus, and a brief cameo by J.R.R. Tolkien.

I'm not sure if it is quite what this anthology wants, but it is the story that is burning to get out.
