Here are a couple of links related to a drug that I've been researching for a zombie story. Krokodil is real drug that is spreading in Russia like crazy.

Here is a youtube video showing the effects. It is graphic.

Someone wrote an entry about cloud computing, Apple, and theories of the future.

I can't remember who wrote it.

Can someone help me?

Edit: Found it here: http://www.antipope.org/charlie/blog-static/2010/04/why-steve-jobs-hates-flash.html

Hey, I know I have friends that have spent a lot of time on a submarine.

I'm looking for some details of someone that has experienced being under water for a good period of time.

If you help me, I'll give you a solid Tuckerization.

I am writing a story titled "Six Minutes" that is basically about a boxing match in a zero-gravity situation. I am reading about the effects of zero gravity and this might be completely insane.

This is going to be a crazy story.

I am looking into historical and mythical images of female tricksters.

I can think of a ton for males.

This morning, I started two new short fiction projects.

The first is a Jonathan Heller Mystery submission for the Dragon's Lure anthology.

The working title is "Murder on the Feng Shui Express" but that will likely change in the future. The story revolves around a murder on the railroads, the Boxer Revolution in China, and a very angry dragon. I dig the premise, but I know I'll need to change the title. Working on the outline and reading the research.

The second is titled "the Elixir of Tears” for the Skulls and Crossbones anthology about women pirates. I really like how the beginning of this piece is turning out. Alas, I have to research proper historical cross-dressing methods. I don't suppose any one here can point me to a good starter website? The character in question is a young woman pretending to be a boy if that helps.

I am big fan of Torchwood and the New Doctor Who series.

I was very disappointed that Torchwood series 3 was only a limited series. That said, I really enjoyed Children of the Earth.

[livejournal.com profile] insatia sent me a link to a wonderful essay about fandom and Doctor Who. I highly recommend it.
You can find it here: http://teatimebrutality.blogspot.com/2009/07/canon-and-sheep-shit-why-we-fight.html

I wrote a Doctor Who fan fiction story. Well, I wrote it for an anthology that lost the license and then released it as fan fiction. You can see it here: http://www.whofic.com/viewstory.php?sid=30697

Research Links:

I love maps: http://associatesdegree.org/free-edu/fascinating-ancient-maps/

Free On-line Novel:

The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making: http://www.catherynnemvalente.com/fairyland/

This is an interesting experiment. The one thing that television can do better than a set novel is the concept of a serialized fiction. Every week you get to find out a little bit about your favorite characters. This is a good way of matching that special addiction. I wonder if it will work.

Today, I woke up a bit late.

I did get an offer for part-time work, but it would pay only a little more than what I make now on unemployment and it would screw me when the contract was up so I said no.

And then [livejournal.com profile] insatia forced me to nap. I watched the classic movie Cleopatra with Liz Taylor. She was mad sexy in the day.

Writing List:

Finished my Miscreant Monkey Crew essay and it is now in [livejournal.com profile] insatia's email box for editing.

Wrote a bit for “The Secret to Giving a Good Wedding Toast”

Started research for Recovery". I need to do a bit of research on modern army hospital procedures. I know several vets. I suspect that some of them have been wounded.

Editing for Dylan and the Dream Pirates. I am current working on Chapter Ten: Ouroboros.

There is a word to describe a city or a village built onto the side of a cliff or mountain and I can't remember it.

It might drive me insane.

Anyone know what I am talking about?

Blue Writer needs sleep badly.

My lovely wife has been out of town for almost two weeks. I don't think I've gotten a decent night's sleep since then.

We've lived together for almost ten years now. And while we fight and bicker, we always have each other. And, I needz my wife in my bed to sleep right.

Mystical Rome went decent last night. The players took neither of the options, but went their own course. This time it did not involve the gratuitous abuse of beggars. And when they discovered that mighty Caesar was bringing roman legions across the Rubicon, they were properly outraged.

A friend Dave McGrath pointed out an old Victorian game that would be perfect for the setting of the Doom That Fell Upon the Villa Diodat. Here is a link so I can find it later. http://www.schooloftheseasons.com/snapdragon.html
