I woke up early this morning watched the Karate Kid II. I think the remake with Jackie Chain is one of the few remakes that actually excite me.

I listened to music and edited. "The Sky God's Daughter" has been sent to my first reader for review. I have such a good feeling about this one.

I changed the name of the story "Wooden Swords" to "Spirits Are Ruthless with the Paths They Choose." It fits the theme of the series. I try to write a series of stories like a television series and follow a theme with the naming.

I also worked on Sekret Media Project 1. The project deadline changed along with the theme, but I'm still in the game. When the NDA expires, I'll make an announcement here.

"The Horses' Thunder Down in the Valley Below" is shaping up to be a cool project.

I was a large fun of the first two seasons of Andromedia. After that it turned into Hercules in Space and I became very bored of it.

I recently found out that the show forced out the main writer/producer.

Robert Thomas Wolfe wrote a coda to the series on how he was going to end it. Sounds awesome!

I am very sad to report that the Seattle Sinner is dropping from a monthly publication to a quarterly.

Alas, I will be writing fewer Tales of the Miscreant Monkey Crew. These stories are always fun and I think honestly I learned a lot about myself by writing them.

The IAMTW list has a thread about defining professional standards in RPG / Video game writing. I think it is a good idea.

Speaking of which, I have a couple of plots I need to polish for the MMORPG I am helping with tonight. It requires a different sort of thought process to create.

Somehow a friend of mine was under the impression that I hated fan-fiction.

Quite the opposite. I think it can be fun and brilliant and a wonderful way express your love of a piece of work. Media Work aka Commercial Tie-ins are very much a professional form of fan-fiction.

I was dared to show a piece of my fan-fiction and so here and now I present my Doctor Who story that I came up with when I thought there was going to be an anthology for which I could submit it. The anthology never happened, but I felt a burning need to tell this story.

I imagine that is how most fan-fiction starts. http://www.whofic.com/viewstory.php?sid=30697

I have forced myself to get on track with my writing duties and beat down the lazy lizard part of my brain that just wants to be lazy.

My Freelance Project Draft #1 is complete. I am going to review it tomorrow. I felt very intimated by this story. I am under NDA, but I will say I get to use one of my all time favorite media characters EVER.

I completed my revisions for "Unto the Breach" for the Dragon's Lure anthology. This story is my little love letter to a favorite author, war movies, my grandfather, and dragons. Note: It is also part of the Heller mystery series.

I have two Mystical Rome stories that I need to complete in the next two weeks. "Three Gates of Agony" tells the story of Valeria inspired by the she-devil Kathy Empson telling her daughter the true story of how she was conceived. I am trying to figure out a way to properly tell the story and pass the censors.

I was invited to a crime anthology. Wow! I’m going to finally get to write a Thanes story!!!

The rest of the week is devoted to speculation work.

I want to complete a Phoenix story for the Triangulation Anthology: Over the Rainbow. I love this universe. I want to write more in it.

I have another Heller mystery to complete titled “Moonlight in Scarlet” that I want to complete for the annual Sword and Sorceress anthology in April.

There is a neat “No More Heroes” anthology I want to support. I have an awesome idea for it. Read about it here: http://libraryofthelivingdead.lefora.com/2010/03/08/no-more-heroes-a-super-powered-antho-submissions-o/#post2

I feel better. Last night I was visiting [livejournal.com profile] spickula and I felt like crap. I bought a new sinus med at the store and now I feel great.

I wrote another 800 words on "Doom" this morning. I am sad I lost the old file, but I like the way this story is shaping.

I have new media work. I was invited to a special anthology for a character I have always loved. [livejournal.com profile] insatia will tease me about this one.

There is another project that contacted me for something a bit bigger. It is awesome that I am even being considered for this one. This is the first time I've been offered something that I really, really loved as a kid.

In addition, I might be getting some video game work as well. My dialog test seems to have gone over really well.

Life has been fairly busy for me as a freelancer.

Last night I completed the second critical essay I needed to write this month. I have a short story to finish this weekend. I have two more projects that need to be completed by the end of June.

It is sometimes hard to stay in the Word Mine and toiling never knowing if success will come. The little things keep you motivated.

I found out this morning that Catalyst Game Labs has accepted three of my stories for their Shadowrun Seattle 2072 sourcebook. I just finished reviewing the line edits for the first story. I am glad this one was accepted as it was my favorite story submitted based on a Shadowrun character played by [livejournal.com profile] blackwings.

I'll be working on the other two as soon as I get them.

At this point I feel as though I should thank my lovely and talented wife/editor [livejournal.com profile] insatia. She makes all of this possible.

I now have two, count them two, media writing projects available to me.

One of them is with an RPG company. I am reading through their pending source materials and submitting flash fiction for said section. This is pretty awesome.

I am also working on a comic book property. I am very excited. I'm going to have to give this one a lot of thought.

In addition, I have several anthologies I want to submit so I have to put on my short story hat.
